Q 1. Aren’t solar panels too expensive?
A 1. No. Solar panels are not free. The system is paid for by redirecting the money you give to your utility provider towards paying for the system. There are no upfront costs to you. The system will be designed to supply all your electricity needs. Hence your electric bill will be virtually zero. Your monthly payments for your solar electric system will be less than what the electric bill was. Having solar panels will actually reduce your monthly expenses
Q2. Will I know how much money I will be saving going Solar?
A 2. Yes. The analysis will be based on your current usage as shown in your past 12 month’s electric bill. If you do not save money, ORCAS Energy will not persuade you to go Solar.
Q3. What if my needs change? For example, what if my future usage will be higher?
Q 3. I will go over your usage in the future. If you plan on increasing usage, like installing a pool or purchasing an electric car, I will take this into account in the system design.
Q4. What if something goes wrong with the system?
A 4. The system will be under warrantee for 25 years. Anything that will go wrong will be fixed free of charge. It will be part of the contract. However, with no moving parts combined with the high reliability of the system, trouble free service will be the norm.
Q5. What are the financing options and can I afford to go Solar?
A5. You can lease, set up a power purchase agreement, get a loan and even pay for it using your property taxes. You do not need to pass credit for this last option and the first payment will not be due for about a year. The question should be can I afford NOT to go solar! I will go over the details with the proposal.
Q6. How will the solar panels affect the value of my home?
A6. According to research by the New York Times, buyers are more likely to purchase a home with solar power and pay more than one without. Hence selling a home with solar is an advantage. https://www.nytimes.com/2015/02/22/realestate/solar-panels-and-home-values.html
